Quick Chocolate Fudge

12 ounces milk chocolate chips
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 cup walnuts -- chopped (optional)


Melt chocolate chips in microwave on medium to medium high until chocolate appears soft about 3 minutes stirring after every minute. Do not overheat or chocolate will harden. Chocolate will retain its shape during microwaving so test often. Stir in condensed milk, butter and vanilla. Blend until butter is fully mixed in. Stir in nuts if desired. Spread mixture immediately into a lightly oiled 8-inch square pan. Cool. May need to keep in refrigerator.
