GOLDEN CROWN CAKE
Ingredients

1 cup scolded milk 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 yeast cakes 2 eggs 4 1/2 cups flour
Procedure

Put scalded milk over the first 3 ingredients, let stand until luke warm. Then add 2 small yeast cakes. Add
2 eggs, well beaten, and 4 1/2 cups flour. Put on floured board and knead until elastic, put in greased bowl
and let stand until double in bulk. Put cloth over bowl. Pat down
and knead again and let rise again for about 20 min. Roll into balls about the size of a golf ball. Roll each
ball in melted butter. Roll each ball in following mixture.
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped nutmeats
Place in a 325° oven for 40 minutes or until browned in angel food cake pan.
Temperature: 325°
Baking Time: 40 minutes.
