BRUNCH WAFFLE BROWNIES
Ingredients

1 1/2 cups enriched flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
3/4 cup milk
2 – 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 stiffly beaten egg whites
Procedure

Sift together the flour, salt and cinnamon. Cream the shortening, add the sugar and beat until light and
fluffy. Add the egg yolks. Mix well. Add milk alternately with dry ingredients. Stir in the chocolate and
nuts. Fold in the egg whites. Bake about 5 minutes in waffle baker, slightly cooler than for plain waffles.
Dust with confectioner's sugar. Cut in small pieces. Makes about four large waffles.
