Ingredients

1/2 cup light brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 3 tbsp. flour 4 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 can evaporated milk 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup water 3 tbsp. butter
Procedure

Put milk in large measuring cup and add enough water 80 it will equal three cups. Pour one-half cup of this
milk mixture into a double boiler and add all of the ingredients above. Stir until thick and smooth.
In a heavy skillet place:
3 cup sugar
1 cup water
3 tbsp. butter
Cook slowly until completely brown. Gradually add 2 1/2 cups of the milk mixture. Stir until everything is
dissolved. Add to mixture in double boiler. Stir until thickened and then cover
and cook for 10 minutes.
Beat 3 egg yolks. Pour part of double boiler mixture into egg yolk. Then return all to double boiler and cook
2 more minutes. Cool and add 1-tsp. vanilla. This may be used for pie fillings. Pour pudding into baked pie
shell and top with meringue or cream.
