LEMON SLICES
Ingredients

4 2/3 tbsp. sugar 2 1/3 oz, grated almonds 3 cup and 1 1/3 tbsp. butter 1/4 cup and 2 tbsp. flour 1/2 lemon rind, grated 1 tsp. cinnamon Jam for filling
Procedure

On a board work all ingredients into a dough. Roll out thin and bake in moderate oven. While hot, cut into 7 lengthwise strips. Put
these together in layers with jam between. Top with icing.
ICING:
1 egg white
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Confectioner's sugar
Cream egg whiter lemon juice and enough sugar to make a not too liquid icing. Bake 2 minutes longer. Cut into slices while still hot.
Temperature: 350°
Baking Time: 10-15 minutes.
