Stuffed Cabbage Casserole


1 medium onion chopped
6 Tbsp butter divided
1 pound ground, lean beef
1 cup cooked white rice
1 small cabbage, finely shredded
2 Tbsp flour
2 garlic cloved minced
4 Tbsp catsup
1 cup canned, chopped tomaotes
1 cup water
Salt to taste
A little pepper


Saute onion in 2 Tbsp buttere until soft, add the beef and brown-add the rice and saute 2-3 minutes. Pour into a deep and large casserole dish. Arrange the cabbage on top of the meat mixture. Melt the remaining butter in a pan then blend in the flour. Cook until bubbly-remove from the heat and stir in the garlic, catsup, chopped tomatoes, water, salt and pepper. Simmer, stirring about 5 minutes. Pour over the cabbage. Cover and bake at 350: for 1- 1/2 hours.
