Spinach Brownies


1 package (10 oz.) frozen, chopped spinach (thawed and squeezed dry)
1/4 cup oil
1 egg
3 Tbsp. water
1 box (12.0 oz.) brownie mix
1/2 cup milk-chocolate morsels


Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom only of nonstick 9 x 9. In a blender, or food processor with a metal blade, puree spinach, oil, egg, and water. Process one minute, or until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Transfer mixture to a larger bowl. Add brownie mix and stir until well blended. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 30 minutes. Cool in the pan on wire rack for 20 minutes. Remove brownies from pan and place on cutting board. Place chocolate morsels in small microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for one minute, or until melted. Spread melted chocolate on top of brownies. Let stand about one hour, until chocolate is set. Cut into 16 squares.
