Green Beans Gretel

2 tbsp. chopped onion
2 tbsp. butter
2 - 1 lb. cans cut green beans
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
2 tsp. horseradish
2 tbsp. chopped pimento


Drain beans - save liquid. Slowly fry 2 tablespoons chopped onion in 2 tablespoons butter until tender. Combine 1/4-cup bean liquid with 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons vinegar and 2 teaspoons cornstarch. Add mixture to onions. Cook, stirring until thickened and smooth. Blend in 1 tablespoon prepared mustard, 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish, 2 tablespoons chopped pimento. Add beans. Add a bit more bean liquid if necessary. Cook until heated throughly.
