Crockpot Apple Butter
4 lbs apples of your choice (I use Granny Smith)
1 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
Peel, core and slice apples of your choice (I use Granny Smith) to over-fill your crock pot. (approx. 4 lbs) Cook on High, without the lid, for 4 hours. Cook on Low, overnight (8-12 hours). In the morning, stir with a whisk, add sugar, cinnamon and cloves to taste. (Sometimes I use sugar (1 cup) and sometimes I use none). I use 2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp cloves. Cook a few more hours on High, with the lid off to thicken. Can/freeze.
