Chinese Braised Pork Chops


1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tsp grated fresh ginger root
3 cloves garlic
1 tsp sugar
2 Tbsp cornstarch
chili flakes to taste
black or white pepper to taste
1 cup chicken stock
6-8 boneless pork chops
1-2 heads Napa cabbage


Shred cabbage, layer in an oven proof covered baking dish alternating cabbage and pork chops , pour the sauce over the whole , cover and bake @ 350 degrees for 1.5 hours or till chops are tender and succulent , serve with steamed white rice. Note, one could add bamboo shoots, water chestnuts , or any other Chinese vegetable you'd like to.
