Blackberry Cobbler

4 cups blackberries
3/4 cup sugar
ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
6 tablespoons butter cut into 6 chunks
1 cup of half and half


Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Butter 10 inch deep pie pan. Stir in berries part of sugar and pinches of nutmeg and salt. If the berries are not at the height of flavor, add a tablespoon of more sugar and lemon juice. Mix the remaining sugar, brown sugar, flour, baking powderm and more pinches of nutmeg and salt. Add the butter and mix. You should have a coarse mixture. Pour in the half and half and pulse again until the batter forms. Drop batter in spoonfuls over the berries leaving the top a bit uneven and some of the berries uncovered in spots. Bake for about 35 minutes or until brown.

Temperature: 325°

Baking Time: 35 minutes.
